amanda - MATSL

Salut!

Currently I teach middle school French in Connecticut where I have taught for the past seven years. I am a graduate of Simmons College in Boston and I have studied at Middlebury College in Vermont as well as the University of Paris. In addition to my undergraduate degree in French and Art History, I have a professional chef's diploma from the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.

I have cooked professionally in both Boston and the South of France. I have international business experience as well as ten years teaching experience both here and abroad.

Currently, I am a second year graduate student at Bennington College pursuing my master of arts in teaching a second language. I am a die hard foodie and enjoy preparing delicious meals for my family and friends.

You are the one I should ask about the food in the student center, how is it? I'm quite impressed with your cooking blog, it is terrific. Do you have a large audience? Have you readJulie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen? Julia Powers wrote it about her experience cooking every recipe in one of Julia Child's French cookbooks in a year. She blogged about it for the duration and got a book out of the experience!

So many of the people I have met here this summer have led incredible lives. That certainly applies to you! A chef and a French teacher...wow! I spent almost a month in Provence in 2003. It was an incredible experience. I loved France! How were you ever able to tear yourself away?
