I like this Spanish dictionary because it also has an English dictionary and several other helpful tools all on one page. -Merrie

www.rae.es

This is a great source for any MATSL student and teacher, because it gives you access to the Diccionario de la Real Academica Española. It has quite possibly the largest variety of words in Spanish, and it is recommended by the Spanish professors themselves. Hard to argue with the genious of Doctor Jarra. -Guille

I was just using this dictionary to look up words from Don Segundo Sombra, and it has an ample variety of definitions in the target language; it also gives meanings of words that are specific to certain countries or dialects. Two Thumbs Up!-Melissa

http://www.wordreference.com/ - This is also a helpful site to look up words in both english and spanish and can be used as a classroom resource as well.
-Chris.

Wordreference is, indeed, a helpful dictionary site for a variety of languages.
-Guille

http://www.allwords.com/-- I think this is a helpful site if you want to compare languages. You can type in the English word and get translation into about six other languages. I discovered this site when talking to a Latin teacher about similarities in between the languages.--Shakita

Aunque me gusta el diccionario de la RAE y lo utilizo de vez en cuando, el problema para los hispanoamericanos es que sólo contiene la versión más oficial de la lengua.

Cristóbal,

Prefiero el comentario de Guille - tiene toda la razón. Además, nos meciona como los 2 profesores.

Guille. You have a lot of knowledge and that's great. However, I have to remind you of a few things. It was Sonia who originally mentioned the website and continued to reference it during last year summer program.
